JDRF is the leading global organization funding Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research. Their goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D.

This fun 5k event adds the twist of having colored powders (made from non-toxic colored corn starch) thrown at you at each kilometer mark. The event is meant to celebrate our local heroes living with T1D, bring awareness and education to our community, and promote health, wellness, and fun. The event will be untimed. Awards for finishing order are not planned.

I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not participate unless I am medically able. I agree to abide by any decisions of a race official regarding my ability to safely complete the event. I assume the risks associated with participating in the Color Me Cured 5k. These include, but are not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather (including rain, heat, and humidity), traffic, and conditions of the road. Having read this release and knowing these facts, I waive and release Color Me Cured 5k, The Town of Walnut, Walnut Runs, Eli’s Allies, all sponsors of the event and their agents, persons assisting with the event and their successors from all claims or liabilities. I also grant permission for the release of any photographs, video, recordings, or any other record of my participation in the event for any legitimate purpose. I am authorized to process this registration on behalf of the participant (if registering for someone else) and am of legal age to provide this information.
